As per WOSCOPS
Patients
As per WOSCOPS
Follow-up
Mean of 4.9 years
Treatment Regimen
As per WOSCOPS
Results
- Overall 2198 (33%) of the 6595 men were admitted to the hospital. There were 4333 admissions and 28% were related to cardiac disease. The number of men requiring hospitalization for cardiovascular causes was reduced by 21% (p = 0.008) in the pravastatin group compared to placebo.
- Hospital admissions for cardiac causes per 1000 subject years was decreased by 10.8% (p = 0.0013) in the pravastatin group compared to the placebo group.
