Aim
Study Patients
Hypertensive patients with various degrees of chronic kidney disease [N=80]
Study Groups
- Telmisartan dose was uptitrated from 40 mg to 80 mg in 50% of the patients
Study Duration
12 weeks
Efficacy Endpoints
- BP reduction in patients with renal impairment
Result
- Telmisartan resulted in a very significant degree of double-digit BP lowering.
- The graph shows the mean changes in BP in all the 3 categories of renal disease patients.
- The DBP goal was achieved in 68% patient
Conclusion

Telmisartan can be effectively & safely used even in severe renal impairment
