In recent research, hysterectomy, with or without ovarian preservation, significantly raised the risk of metabolic syndrome. Over a 10.5-year period, 29% of those with a history of hysterectomy and 22% with oophorectomy developed metabolic syndrome. Notably, both hysterectomy [HR, 1.32] and hystero-oophorectomy [1.40] were strongly linked to incident metabolic syndrome compared to those without these procedures.

Conversely, an increased number of total suture anchors and higher body mass index were associated with poorer postoperative outcomes.
