Elevated random glucose levels during hospital admission hiked the risk of all-cause mortality and cardiogenic shock in non-diabetic AMI patients during hospitalization, reported a recent study. The risk of all-cause mortality was particularly high in patients with glucose =122 mg/dL and that of cardiogenic shock was high in patients with glucose = 111 mg/dL.
