This Indian study demonstrated telmisartan to be efficacious and tolerable for BP control in Indian hypertension patients when used as monotherapy or in combination therapy. The benefits of telmisartan were independent of age, duration, and stages of hypertension.

In recent research, higher blood eosinophil counts were associated with a swifter decline in lung function among individuals without COPD or asthma, regardless of smoking status. Participants with elevated eosinophil counts had a greater annual decline in FEV1 (ranging from -23.3 to -26.8 mL) vs. those with lower counts. This link was particularly strong among younger individuals without prior lung disease history.

Adolescents with PCOS displayed higher mean BMI z-scores and truncal fat mass across midchildhood, early teen, and midteen visits compared to non-PCOS peers. Further analysis revealed elevated odds of PCOS with increased truncal fat during midchildhood (OR 1.42) and early teen visits (OR 1.61), while a diminished adiponectin/leptin ratio during midteen visits correlated with higher PCOS risk (OR 0.14).
